Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 Standalone has been released on March 16th 2012. Both 32bit and 64bit versions of the Standalone are available. This would help relatively for those who have the 64bit OS’s installed on their machines. This version of the Standalone Client supports only the Oracle Enterprise Edition (OEE) as the local database.
You can download the 9.1 Standalone/Demo from the edelivery.oracle.com site.
As of writing this post, only the 64bit version of the E9.1 Demo is available for download.
To get this, login to the eDelivery site using your Oracle credentials, and then search for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne / MS Windows x64
Within it, select the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 Applications/9.1 Tools Media Pack for Microsoft Windows (64-bit)
The complete installation steps for the E9.1 Standalone/Demo are given in the link below.

Marcelo Santos has written up the summarized steps (for those who fret over reading Oracle docs) for JD Edwards Standalone 9.1 Installation here
Works ideal, looks perfect!
Great thanks!
Russian translation is very bad
I’m having some trouble having it installed. Anyone could put in a quick guide and maybe issues that they have come across during installation.
Hi,
Please visit the comments of JDESource.com
Some Issues I had:
1 – Validate you have sufficent disk space in your VM. My VM started with Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008. From there, I pulled all of the Oracle install files (over 8 GB), and then installed. My VM is now 43.6 GB.
2 – Check that your .CAB files are valid. One of the .CAB files failed extraction during the Database Install – very messy.
3 – Read Marcelo Santos’ “how to” guide posted up at JdeSource.com and linked above, as he has corrected a number of minor issues while trying to follow the Oracle document.
Has anyone been able to make a ODBC32 connection to the OEE yet? I continue to get an error message about CTL3D32.dll, and I believe the ODBC is not connecting (does not affect the demo, just trying to access the read-only data from outside JDE).
Deepesh,
Thanks you such a wonderful sharing of JDE 9.1 demo. Your website helps a lot.
God Bless You.
Tried installing twice and I keep coming up with the same problem. Oracle can’t find the listener. I know this because when I try running the JDE Universal installer at the Package Selection screen i get the message “Determining if database is running. This may take awhile do you want to continue to wait”
Also when I set up an ODBC oracle connection i get an error: “ORACLE 12541 TNS:no listener. ORACLEE1LocalTNSListner is running in services.
Java Version is 1.7
Firewall and UAC are both disabled.
Is there some software updates I should have?
Any help is tremendously appreciated!
OS is 64 bit windows 7
Some more info, here’s what is in the listener.ora file:
# listener.ora Network Configuration File: c:\Oracle\E1Local\network\admin\listener.ora
# Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = c:\Oracle\E1Local)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
(ENVS = “EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY:c:\Oracle\E1Local\bin\oraclr11.dll”)
)
)
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.1.111)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
)
)
Awp_BASE_LISTENER = c:\Oracle
I don’t see a reference to E1Local local in here. Doesn’t the listener need one to find the E1Local connection?
What does a correct listener.ora and tnsnames.ora file look like?
This 64-bit install worked first time on Windows 7. Only delay was having to stop and download the 32-bit drivers. to complete the setup.
In another VM with “error”:Determining if database is running. After installed JAVA and windows update package, still i was having the same error.
I saw in my log:
Executing system command: c:\Oracle\E1Local\bin\sqlplus.exe -S -L system/*********@E1Local @C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\alterdftprofile.sql
37 1 11:41:43 W AlterDefaultProfile(): Failed to alter default profile. The command failed with error 1.. Attempt 1
and if i used “lsnrctl status” in CMD, i didn´t see E1LOCAL instance.
Then i did 2 change (i don´t know wich one was the solution, but one was)
-In net manager, over LISTENER i changed ip HOST for hostname
-Open sqlplus with sys/password as sysdba and ran again @C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\alterdftprofile.sql
After this,i can see E1local (lsnrctl status:)
Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=W7x64)(PORT=1521)))

I get the following error while installing Demo 9.1.
“An error occurred during the interview of this component EnterpriseOne development client 1.0.0.0.0. A previous installation of E1 Client exists. This client was installed using the Pre-OUI client installer. Please uninstall the client via Add/Remove program.
I’ve removed using the Add/Remove programm. I’m not a techie hence would appreicate if you can provide a step-by-step process to get rid of this error.
Hi Santhosh,
Please visit the uninstallation guide in this same blog, which can help uninstall the previous version.
Hello All,
Has any one tried an installation on Windows 8 ?
Any ideas on how it (win 8) would affect ?
Thanks,
Prasad
I just got my hands on a new Windows 8 laptop to use for our demo environment (it’s a VM). Haven’t decided if I want to attempt to install the standalone on the actual machine yet or not..
I installed the 9.1 Standalone on a Windows 8 machine and everything seems to be working great. I followed the instructions from an installation guide that was posted on jdesource.com (post has since been removed). Steps are similar to those here for 9.1, using the Runtime install for the 32-bit database instead of Administrator install. Also has contained a bunch of additional information for several errors.
